LANTITE Testing FAQs

The LANTITE (Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education) is a national assessment for pre-service teachers in Australia, designed to measure essential literacy and numeracy skills. Passing the LANTITE is required to graduate from many teaching programs and demonstrates a candidate’s readiness to support student learning effectively.
 

The LANTITE has two components:

Literacy Test: This section assesses skills in reading comprehension, language use, spelling, grammar, and interpreting written texts.
Numeracy Test: This section covers skills in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, basic arithmetic, measurement, statistics, and data interpretation.

Each component of the LANTITE is 2 hours, with an additional 5 minutes for reading instructions. If taking both components, the total time commitment is approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes, though they can be scheduled on separate days.
